About Checkers Online
Checkers Online is a free place to play checkers and draughts in your browser — no download, no account, no waiting.
What you can play
- Checkers — the classic 8×8 American game.
- Pool Checkers — 8×8 with flying kings and free capture choice.
- Spanish, Portuguese, and Czech Checkers — the Spanish family, with flying kings and capture-priority rules.
- Russian Checkers — Shashki, where a man crowns mid-capture and keeps jumping as a king.
- Brazilian Draughts — 8×8 with flying kings and maximum capture.
- International Draughts — the 10×10 world-championship variant.
- Canadian Checkers — International rules on a huge 12×12 board.
- Filipino and Moroccan Checkers — the mirrored-board games of the Philippines and North Africa.
- Chinese Checkers — not strictly checkers (it's Stern-Halma, a Halma-family race game with no captures), but we host it honestly labeled because people love it.
To compare the rule sets side by side, see the guide to checkers variants.
How it works
Every game runs entirely in your browser. You can play against the AI at easy, medium, or hard difficulty, or share a screen and play a friend in hot-seat mode. The AI uses a minimax search with alpha-beta pruning, running in a background worker so the board stays responsive.
New to the rules?
Every variant has its own rules guide — start from the game page you want to play, or from the variants guide, and follow its Rules link.
